Dont take my photo....

Dont Take my photograph.....
As a photographer you come across this all the time... you want to take someones photograph and people are not up for it... so people cover their faces in order to shield the camera in front of them... so you end up with loads of photos of this kind... so I made a little collection of people covering their faces or parts of their faces... but even so it is still very interesting and you can tell alot about people from their hands and part face... this demonstrates that you dont have to get a full face shot in order to get an insight into someone or their emotions...

please enjoy...

A day in the Life.... of a studio...

I shot this timelapse of us working in the studio... we had to build a bedroom set and shoot some furniture in it... as you can see the work and time that goes into one photograph, and in this photograph there wasnt even that much lighting... sometimes we have up to 15 lights to light a shot... in a full 10 hour day we usually shoot just 3 photographs...

I got motivated to post this video because I stumbled on a cool cover of a neil young song... the music just seemed perfect for the clip... music by poolside...

New Paradigm Shoot

This was a shoot for their new upcoming album... this was shot through a glass panel with steam fogging up the glass... with two lights. one soft light bounced againts the wall and another right underneath them to bring some light into the shadowed area... FYI. I was shooting in the freezing cold while they stood in a nice warm room and fogged up the glass with a nice warm kettle... I suffer for my art... :)

Grand Taco Mexican Restaurant Shoot

I spent two days shooting food (and of course eating it after it's shot - you cant let perfectly good food go to waste... not to mention delicious too.)

It was a fun shoot... the images came out very well, the only image that i have my doubts about are the fajitas... Its a great image but it does have something about it that doesnt go with the other images... maybe the black or the difference between whats going on at the top of the picture and the bottom... maybe we got a bit excited at how the chicken looked after we lit it, but nonetheless it's a nice image. so enjoy the photos... and check out Grand Taco Mexican Restaurant - (02) 9601 5214

website coming soon

Emily Greaser

I met Emily Greaser in sydney a few years ago, she is a wonderful creative girl now living in new york. She created these trailers using my images. She is a wonderful designer and animator.  We have a few ongoing projects happening and im sure we will work together again in the near future.  I miss her dearly.

Grenfell Pinnacle Guinea Pig Race

This was a short film that I shot with my friend Sean Barker, he has this character called Wayne Gedatter and we decided to go out to Grenfell (5 hours west of Sydney) which is where Sean is from to shoot this spoof of a sports commentator. Had lots of fun and coincidentally ended up bringing a guinea pig home as a pet. Ah the crazy world of sports commentating...

Shout out to Sevi who helped edit this film for us. (Sevak Dilanchian)

And to Gini Harrison who was a great assistant during the days shoot.

I used to (and still do) love sticking my camera on anything... usually back then masking tape would suffice. Now I am a little more sophisticated and have brackets and cool little gadgets to mount cameras on...

warning- there are some close up images of my crotch in this video.
